Vedat Mathieu Akkus was born on August 2, 1974, in Istanbul. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Istanbul before relocating to Paris, France, to support his family's textile and gastronomy businesses. While in Paris, he undertook language training to both assist in his family’s enterprises and pursue his university education. At the age of 21, he managed the Constantinople Restaurant, which is regarded as one of the most popular restaurants in Paris and the first representative of Mediterranean cuisine in Europe. Here, Akkus gained valuable experience in gastronomy while simultaneously overseeing his family's textile export business.
Having learned the intricacies of trade from the ground up, Vedat Mathieu Akkus pioneered the idea of exporting textiles to the Balkan countries and Europe through the Kapalıçarşı (Grand Bazaar) and Osmanbey textile centers. He worked in textile export for A&S Investment Holding for over 20 years, exporting fabrics and leather to numerous cities across Europe, particularly to the Balkan countries, including Romania and Moldova, thereby acquiring international experience in export and import. Following the rise of the tourism sector in Turkey, he served as a manager in the tourism industry for 15 years. Currently, he actively applies his international knowledge and expertise in export, import, and tourism as a board member of A&S Investment Holding, where he is responsible for the company’s investments in Europe, contributing to its global expansion.
Vedat Mathieu Akkus, who remains unmarried, often states, "I am married to my work," reflecting his dedication to the business world and the importance he places on it. He is proficient in several languages, including French, German, English, Arabic, Romanian, and Spanish.
